Can anyone really make spaetzle with the Spaetzle Wonder?
-
Yes, making spaetzle with the Spaetzle Wonder is child’s play. Normally, the dough for every spaetzle maker has to have just the right consistency. A small mistake could mean the end of your spaetzle making fun. That’s not the case with Muxel’s spaetzle colander. With the Spaetzle Wonder, the thickness of your spaetzle dough, whether you use a lot of eggs or even no egg at all, well that doesn’t play much of a role at all. Because whatever the consistency of your dough, you can easily scrape it through the spaetzle colander with our convenient, patented scraper. You spaetzle will always be a success.

Can I freeze spaetzle?
-
Of course you can freeze spaetzle.
If you're planning on freezing spaetzle, rinse them with cold water after taking them out of the pot. Also, adding a drop of oil to your spaetzle will keep them from sticking together.
Thawing them out is easy and the spaetzle won’t be mushy if you either thaw them out quickly in boiling water, ca. 45 seconds, or in the microwave. Afterward, fry them lightly in a pan with a little butter.

How does a spaetzle dough have to be? More solid or rather runny?
-
The consistency of the dough depends on the spaetzle maker that you’re going to use to make your spaetzle. For a spaetzle press, it should be rather solid. If you are using a spaetzle grater, it can be a bit runnier. Generally, the spaetzle dough should just barely droop down when held up with a spoon and eventually tear away, so in other words, very viscous. But thank goodness that there’s a Spaetzle Wonder. It will work with just about every dough. It doesn’t matter if it's thick or thin, solid or just the right viscosity.
So don’t worry so much about your dough. As long as you make it thicker than pancake batter, the result will always be the same: “really delicious spaetzle."

On what size pots will the Spaetzle Wonder fit?

Why isn’t the spaetzle colander made out of stainless steel?
-
Stainless steel looks really good and certainly lasts a long time, but stainless steel is also a good conductor of heat and it can get really hot. Since liquid dough and hot, stainless steel don’t really make a good combination (the dough cooks on the steel before you can scrape it through), we wanted to offer our customers the best material that we could find. That’s why we decided to make our Spaetzle Wonder out of Lonsi-Yol.
